Bulgaria confronted with another bird flu outbreak

Bulgaria’s food safety agency authorities reported a bird flu outbreak on a duck farm in Yoglav, a small town in central Bulgaria, informs Reuters. According to the officials, all the birds on the farm were culled.
A 3-km protection zone has been installed in the area and the movement of domestic, wild and other birds and has been banned within it, as has the sale of eggs and poultry, mentioned the food safety agency in a statement.
In March, another duck farm in central Bulgaria was affected by an outbreak of the virulent bird flu virus H5. The country is one of the largest duck meat producers in the EU and more than 65% of the duck meat is exported.
