Marel installs the first fully automatic salmon processing line in China
Shanghai Hi-Chain Foods' processing facility produces up to 30 metric tons of salmon products per day. According to Marel, the new installation includes filleting, trimming, pinbone removal, skinning, portioning and slicing equipment. Shanghai Hi-Chain Foods also processes tuna, king crab and other seafood.
After Marel reached a deal with the Chinese processing company, the new equipment was installed in August 2017.
The Hi-Chain plant has been fully operational since the end of August 2017.
Hi-Chain's facility is based in Hengsha International Port near Shanghai.
