Costa Food Group and La Selva join Spanish Chorizo Consortium

The companies Costa Food Group (Casademont and Carnicas Villar) and Joaquim Albertí SA (La Selva / Carsodo) have joined the Spanish Chorizo Consortium. In this way, this voluntary association increases its number of members to 23, according to CdeComunicacion website.

The incorporation of these two new companies fulfilled another of the objectives for the Spanish Chorizo Consortium: to attract in the association the main chorizo producers in Spain. "It is a real pride to announce the entry of Costa Food Group, with its two very representative brands -Casademont and Carnicas Villar- and La Selva to this great family. With these additions we are already 23 members and represent, thus, a very high percentage of the marketing of chorizo abroad. Without a doubt, the new associates will help us to give even more weight to our association," commented Alfonso Alcazar, president of the Consortium of Spanish Chorizo.

In 2018, more than two million two hundred and thirty-nine thousand kilos of labeled product was produced by its members. "By 2019, we maintain the objective of continuing to increase the volume of labeling as we have been doing since our creation, to reinforce our presence in priority markets and to increase our visibility with the Logo to new clients and in new countries", added Mr. Alcazar.
