Argentine: Final agreement for exporting meat to Mexico

The Mexican Health Service signed the last papers so that 22 Argentine meat companies are now authorized to send cuts to that market. In 2021, Mexicans imported 86,000 tons of fresh and frozen boneless meat, for US$ 750 million.

Argentine: Final agreement for exporting meat to Mexico

After a series of negotiations, Argentine beef met all the requirements to enter Mexico.

As reported by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Mexican Sanitary Service (Senasica) notified the conditions under which the opening of the market to Argentine beef remains operational.

As of this decision, some 22 national meat companies are in a position to start exporting to Mexico. The negotiations to open this market lasted for almost ten years.

Between January and November, total Argentine exports to Mexico were for US$ 986 million, of which US$ 500 million corresponded to the agro-industrial sector. The main products dispatched were sunflower oil, wheat, soybean oil and wine.

In 2021, Mexico imported a total of 86,000 tons of fresh and frozen boneless meat, worth US$750 million.
