The Interprofessional Agri-Food Association of White Pork ( INTERPORC ) actively participated in World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2025, the most important food fair in the Philippines. INTERPORC brings Spanish pork to the Philippines, a key step in its Asian expansion

INTERPORC had two distinct stands. One within the Spanish companies' pavilion, aimed at promoting business opportunities with local operators, and the other focused on the European campaign "EU Pork, The Smart Choice", which highlights the quality, sustainability, and food safety of European pork.

One of the key moments of this participation was the opening ceremony of a new promotion for Spanish pork and processed pork products at Landers supermarkets, which took place on August 6. The cooperation, which will run for a month across 15 of the chain's supermarkets, is a platform for importers, chefs, and hotel managers to network, exchange ideas, and gain insight and knowledge about the potential of pork and pork products in this market.

This initiative, launched as part of the European campaign, aims to bring European pork closer to Filipino consumers through point-of-sale activities, tastings, and promotional materials.

The following day, INTERPORC organized the "Spain on a Plate" event, in collaboration with and support of the Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines and the #alimentosdespaña strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The event was attended by the Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines, Miguel Utray Delgado. Spanish exporters, Philippine importers, culinary influencers , and media representatives took part in an immersive journey through the premium quality, flavor, and sustainability of Spanish pork, with the aim of generating export opportunities, culinary synergies, and trade partnerships.

Strategic market

The Philippines has established itself as one of the key destinations for Spanish pork. In 2024, it ranked fifth in the sector's export volume, with 186,298 tons (6.84% of the national total) for a total of €316.6 million (3.60% of the total). These figures reflect the strategic importance of this market for the sector as a whole.

Daniel de Miguel, INTERPORC's International Director, notes that "this action reinforces our commitment to Asia as a strategic axis for growth, an area where we carry out specific initiatives like this one, tailored to each country to position Spanish pork as a benchmark of excellence, traceability, and trust."
