Turkey’s chicken meat production reached 165,953 tonnes in September, increasing by 3.7% compared with the similar month in 2017 and by 4.7% compared with the previous month this year, according to the latest data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
The number of slaughtered chicken reached 94 million in September, which increased by 7.4% compared with the level reported in September 2017 and by 1.7% compared with the previous month from this year.
Meanwhile, the turkey meat production reached 5,892 tonnes in September. The production increased by 30.5% compared with the same month of the previous year and by 8.2% compared with the previous month.
The number of slaughtered turkey increased by 30.7% in September compared with the same month of the previous year and by 5.1% compared with the previous month.
Hen egg production was 1.6 billion units in September. The production decreased by 1.1% compared with the similar period from 2018 and by 1.9% compared with the previous month.
