Turkey reported a year-over-year increase in its poultry production in April, according to the country’s statistical authority TurkStat.
Although the hen egg production reported a decrease in April by 3.3% compared to the previous month, it increased by 4.4% compared to the corresponding period from 2017.
The number of slaughtered chicken reached 109 million, increasing by 4.1% in April compared to the previous month and by 11% compared to the same month from 2017.
Meanwhile, the number of slaughtered turkey was 571,000 units, which meant an increase of 11.7% in April compared to the month before and by 63.6% compared with same month of the previous year.
TurkStat says that according to the seasonally and calendar adjusted series; chicken meat production increased by 1.6% compared with the previous month. According to the calendar adjusted series chicken meat production increased by 8.1% compared with the same month of the previous year.
