Vall Companys plans to acquire the majority stake in Group Sada

Group Sada and Sada Canarias are owned by the Dutch company Nutreco. The deal awaits the green light from the National Market and Competition Commission.

At the beginning of June, the Spanish meat producer Group Vall Companys and Nutreco Iberia, a subsidiary of the Dutch Group Nutreco, announced the National Market and Competition Commission about Vall’s intention to acquire the majority stake in Group Sada and Sada Canarias, two poultry producers owned by the Dutch company. Grupo Sada is a leading national company, specialized in integrated poultry production, oriented toward the traditional market, modern distribution and food service. Its activity focuses on the total management of the chicken production cycle, from breeders, incubators, fattening farms and processing plants, to the distribution of the final product.
Grupo Sada is the poultry processing division of the Nutreco company in Spain, a holding company of Nutreco, one of the largest multinational companies in the agri-food sector.
Representatives of Vall Companys refused to comment about the offer saying that “until the CNMC’s opinion is made public, and out of respect for the process, no further comments will be made on the operation”, according to the Spanish Carnica magazine.
