Record beef exports in the first 5 months of the year for Argentine

The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Economy of the Nation reports that Argentine beef exports showed, between January and May 2026, a year-on-year growth of 46% in value, for a total of 1,765 million dollars, and of 11% in volume, for 332,207 tons carcass weight equivalent.

On the other hand, in May of this year, meat exports reached a year-on-year increase of 10.6%, for 72,994 tons equivalent to beef with bone.

The most significant event of the period was the growth in exports to the United States. Shipments reached 42,776 tons, an increase of 151%, while the value of exports grew by 204%, reaching $355 million.

In this way, the United States came to represent 18.7% of the exported volume and 20.2% of the total value of external sales and consolidates itself as the second most important destination for Argentine beef.

China remains the top export destination, accounting for 53.7% of export volume. Shipments to this market showed remarkable stability, reaching 123,047 metric tons (product weight), unchanged from 2025. These results confirm China’s role as the leading buyer of Argentine beef, particularly frozen products.

Finally, Israel also had a favorable performance, with increases of 21% in volume and 73% in value.
