Argentine meat exports to the United States increased 111% year-on-year, driven by a new quota of 80,000 tons.
Argentine has consolidated remarkable growth in its beef exports  to the United States during the first half of 2026. This performance is highlighted by a 111% increase in total volume shipped, reaching 61,000 tons. This figure positions the country as one of the fastest-growing exporters in that market.
As of August 3, Argentine had used more than 14,000 tons of its permanent quota of 20,000 tons per year for the US market. This represents 72.5% quota utilization, 41% higher than in the same period of 2025 and the highest percentage among the beneficiary countries. Other countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Uruguay also showed a high level of utilization of their respective quotas.
The significant increase is largely attributed to a special quota of 80,000 tons, distributed in 20,000-ton increments per quarter, which went into effect on February 13. Although U.S. Customs does not provide details on the progress of this specific quota, overall import data through June 30 reveals that Argentine shipped 61,000 tons bone-in equivalent.
