Hong Kong removes temporary restrictions on poultry imports from Poland

Polish Chief Veterinary Officer announced that the authorities from Hong Kong have removed the temporary ban on imports of Polish poultry products. Poland will be able to export to Hong Kong poultry (carcasses, items, and offal) and poultry products (including eggs) intended for consumption and originating from Poland, according to a press release from Poland’s Main Veterinary Inspectorate.

Hong Kong authorities will accept the import of fresh/frozen poultry meat and poultry products from Poland if the entire consignment is avian influenza – free. In addition, consignments of poultry eggs will only be accepted if they are produced/packaged in countries, zones or compartments that are free of avian influenza and transported in new and properly disinfected packaging materials. The shipment must be accompanied by a health certificate in accordance with the agreed and currently used format for export from Poland to Hong Kong.
