INAC conducted a survey of retail outlets and restaurants in Florida, USA. As part of an institutional mission to Miami and New York to promote Uruguayan beef, including an event organized by the Uruguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and participation in the Famous Food Festival, INAC Vice President Leonardo Bove and Brand Manager Andrés Angulo visited supermarkets, specialty meat shops, and restaurants to assess the presence and market position of Uruguayan beef.
The tour confirmed the presence of Uruguayan beef in various retail channels in South Florida. Visits included Whole Foods in Boca Raton, Publix, and Broward Meat & Fish Market, where Uruguayan beef was available.
In the specialty meat market, Easy Meats and Campo Meat were surveyed. In the restaurant sector, El Gauchito, Gaucho Ranch, and La Criolla were visited, all of which offer a variety of Uruguayan beef and lamb cuts on their menus.
During the visit, ideas were exchanged regarding potential joint actions to strengthen the promotion and visibility of the Uruguay Meats brand in the local market.
In conclusion, the survey confirmed a significant presence of Uruguayan meat in both the retail and food service sectors, with a notable share of beef and lamb products.
Opportunities were identified to strengthen communication of Uruguayan origin at large-scale points of sale and to continue supporting commercial actions that allow consolidating the presence and differentiation of Uruguayan meat in the South Florida market.
