Brazilian exports of chicken meat totaled 363.8 thousand tons in September, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Proteins (ABPA).
The performance registered in the ninth month of 2018 was 6% lower than the total exported in September 2017, with 387.1 thousand tons.
In revenue, the September balance reached US $ 582.3 million, 8.8% lower than the US $ 638.6 recorded in the same period last year.
In the year to date, sales of chicken meat abroad reached 3,060 million tons, a volume 7.5% lower than the 3.308 million tons registered between January and September 2017. In revenue, the balance of 2018 is of US $ 4.889 billion, 11.5% lower than the result of accumulated sales in the first nine months of 2017, with US $ 5.523 billion.
“The volume of exports registered in September was significant compared to the lower number of business days in the period, if compared to other months of the year,” analyzes ABPA’s president, Francisco Turra.
