IPCVA: Argentine Meat Week, a success in the US

Karina Milei, PromArgentina and the IPCVA analyzed the success of Meat Week in the U.S. and confirmed the second edition for September.

The Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, held a working meeting with the Executive President of PromArgentina, Diego Sucalesca, and directors of the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA), in which they reviewed the unprecedented success of the first Argentine Beef Week in the United States, a trade promotion action that favored the increase of exports to the US market, one of the most demanding in the world.

In the meeting with Karina Milei, the second Argentine Meat Week in the United States was confirmed for next September, an initiative that is part of Argentine B2B Week, the new international promotion format designed by PromArgentina to bring the country’s exportable offer closer to international buyers.

This new edition of Argentine Meat Week will cover the cities of Miami, Atlanta and Houston with the aim of further strengthening the country’s meat presence there, expanding business opportunities and boosting exports to one of Argentine’s main destinations.

As a result of the successful promotional strategy represented by Argentine Meat Week, in which the Foreign Ministry, the Secretariat of Agriculture and the Argentine Embassy in the United States also took part, the country exported some 11,000 tons of meat last May, the same amount that it had managed to market to the US market in the first eight months of 2025.

Furthermore, according to a report by the Commercial Intelligence Management of PromArgentina —based on official statistics collected between January and May of last year—, beef exports to the United States grew by 369% year-on-year.

“The commercial results of the first edition of Argentine Beef Week confirmed the success of the macroeconomic direction and international integration led by the national government. The strong performance of Argentine exports is a fundamental pillar for productive growth and the genuine inflow of foreign currency. To consolidate this path, together with the Secretary General of the Presidency and the IPCVA (Argentine Beef Promotion Institute), we are planning a second mission to the United States, as well as reaching other destinations with this promotional format,” explained Sucalesca.

For their part, during the meeting with the Secretary General of the Presidency, the IPCVA authorities highlighted the unprecedented nature of the initiative and the expectations that the meat sector has for the upcoming joint trade mission to the United States.

“We wanted to thank Karina Milei for the work done by PromArgentina during the first Argentine Beef Week in the United States, which was a complete success, as demonstrated by exports to the North American market,” said Georges Breitschmitt, president of the Beef Promotion Institute.

The success of the first edition

In this regard, the authorities of PromArgentina and the IPCVA confirmed the continuation of joint work so that Argentine beef can also reach other markets.

The first Argentine Meat Week took place from April 27 to May 1 and covered the US cities of Philadelphia – the port where half of the country’s meat exports arrive -, Chicago and Los Angeles.

This business strategy included holding key business meetings in the United States to directly connect Argentine meatpacking plants with major international buyers. As a result of these efforts, dozens of contracts were signed, projecting a sustained increase in beef exports in the coming months.

This dynamism will allow Argentine to meet the export quota of 100,000 tons that the United States authorized for the country by 2026 after a historic bilateral trade agreement.

The delegation of companies that participated in the first Week in the United States was made up of representatives from La Anónima, Bustos Beltrán, Frigorífico Forres Beltrán, Frigorífico Gorina, Grupo Lequio, Azul Natural Beef, Frigorífico Rioplatense, Frimsa, Swift, Logros, Frigorífico ProBermejo, Compañía Central Pampeana, Abuelo Julio, Carne Hereford and Bulon Global Order.
