Pilgrim’s Europe has completed a £6 million renovation of its Potton Farm in Cambridgeshire, describing it as a major investment in its UK poultry operations.
The refurbishment included the replacement of the existing timber-framed poultry sheds with five larger, steel-framed, clear-span modern buildings. New ventilation and misting systems have also been installed.
A new site layout has improved access and movement around the farm, while also providing modern facilities for staff.
Aaron McKenna, head of broiler operations UK at Pilgrim’s Europe, said: “Potton Farm is an important part of our poultry operations, and this investment represents a significant commitment to the long-term future of the site and to poultry production in the region.
“The transformation of the site provides our teams with modern facilities that will support the farm for years to come, enabling us to continue delivering high standards of bird welfare, operating as efficiently as possible and providing the best service to our customers.”
