This launch is part of a brand innovation movement within the frozen ready-made lasagna category, in which Sadia is a pioneer in Brazil.
In the week of Lasagna Day, celebrated on July 29, Sadia announces the launch of a limited edition of packaging for its 350g Bolognese Lasagna: until the end of October, consumers will be able to find a version of the product in collectible pots featuring Lek Trek, the brand’s mascot, which turns 55 in 2026.
“Sadia was a pioneer in launching ready-made frozen lasagna in Brazil in the 1990s, and the product remains one of the brand’s icons to this day, being an important part of our history. The collectible and reusable container is a way to celebrate this journey with consumers and, at the same time, shows that we continue to invest in innovations within the category, whether with new flavors, recipes or packaging,” says Marina Secaf, executive marketing manager at Sadia.
The launch is part of the brand’s innovation movement within the category. One example is Sadia PRO Chicken Lasagna with White Sauce, which is part of the new line of ready-to-eat frozen foods with higher nutritional density in the recipes, keeping pace with the growing demand for diets richer in protein, due to the trend towards health and wellness.
In partnership with Biona, Sadia also developed compostable trays for 350g lasagnas, positioning Sadia as the first brand on the market to offer this type of solution in the frozen ready-meal category. Produced from eucalyptus fiber, the new trays decompose in 75 days under composting conditions.
The portfolio also offers different lasagna sizes, ranging from 350g to 1.6kg, catering to both individual and shared meals. The products offer the convenience of going directly from the freezer to the oven, microwave, or air fryer, and there is a variety of flavors, such as Four Cheese, Calabrese, Ham and Cheese, Turkey Breast, and Chicken.
Approximately 3 million Sadia lasagnas are produced monthly at the MBRF factory in Ponta Grossa (PR). The recipes use ingredients without added preservatives. The pasta is fresh, made with wheat flour and eggs, and prepared at the time of assembly. The Bolognese sauce uses ground beef, tomato pulp, chives, parsley, bay leaf, salt, and pepper, while the white sauce is made with cream and freshly grated mozzarella cheese. From the sauces to the preparation of the pasta, from assembly to cooling, the lasagnas are ready in a process that combines technology and manual assembly by dedicated professionals. To preserve freshness, ingredient quality, and shelf life, the dishes undergo a modern ultra-freezing system.
