Westfleisch has officially opened its new livestock center (NVZ) in Nordwalde. With the move from its previous location in Münster-Nienberge, the cooperative is investing in modern infrastructure, shorter distances, and future-proof working conditions.
As one of Germany’s largest piglet suppliers and a major trader of calves and weaners in Northwest Germany, the Westfleisch Livestock Center has been supporting producers and fatteners for many decades with needs-based marketing, thus contributing to the success of their farms. It therefore plays a central role as a link between agricultural operations and the sales markets.
“The location offers modern working conditions, a high-performance infrastructure, and ample development opportunities for the future,” said Michael Schulze-Kalthoff in his speech at the official opening. “The successful relocation is a true team effort. My thanks go to everyone who made this project possible with their tremendous dedication. Now we want to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new location and continue to grow together.”
The new location is appealing due to its convenient transport links and proximity to the previous site in Nienberge. For employees, the move meant shorter commutes, while the premises offer significantly more space for recording and sorting livestock, as well as modern office and work areas.
Westfleisch has taken over the site from Viehvermarktung Münsterland (VVG-MS) and adapted it to the requirements of the livestock center over the past few months. Prior to the move, barn facilities were modernized, a new truck scale was installed, surfaces were paved, and other infrastructure improvements were implemented.
