Coexca, a member company of ChileCarne, received a significant recognition for its commitment to animal welfare by earning the international Certified Care certification from CloverLeaf Animal Welfare Systems. This makes it the first Chilean pork producer, distributor, and exporter to achieve this accreditation for all of its breeding farms, its animal transport system, and its main processing plant.
Certified Care is an international certification that assesses and verifies compliance with rigorous animal welfare criteria at all stages of production, promoting practices focused on animal care, continuous improvement and the sustainability of production systems.
The award, granted by CloverLeaf Animal Welfare Systems Chile with the support of MSD Animal Health, validates the work carried out by the company and its subsidiaries to implement rigorous animal welfare protocols throughout its entire value chain. It also strengthens its commitment to responsible and sustainable production, reinforcing traceability, compliance with international standards, and the ability to respond to the growing demands of markets and consumers globally.
The certification was awarded during a ceremony held in Talca, which brought together industry representatives, authorities, and stakeholders from the agri-food sector. The event was attended by the president of ChileCarne, Juan Carlos DomÃnguez, who praised these types of initiatives for their contribution to strengthening the sector’s competitiveness, generating value for national production, and consolidating international market confidence in Chilean pork.
This milestone positions Coexca as a leader in animal welfare within the national pork sector and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to production based on sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement. It also demonstrates the progress the sector has made in adopting practices aligned with the highest international standards, strengthening its competitiveness and recognition in its target markets.
