On September 22, Juan Carlos DomÃnguez, president of ChileCarne, accompanied the United States Ambassador to Chile, Brandon Judd, and the U.S. Agricultural Attaché, Amanda Hinkle, on a tour of Agrosuper’s Lo Miranda plant.
The visit provided an opportunity to observe firsthand the processes involved in the production and export of chicken and pork, as well as to discuss the trade and production ties between the two countries.
Throughout the visit, Juan Carlos DomÃnguez shared key aspects of the sector’s work with U.S. officials, including traceability systems and the health and safety measures that support national production and its access to international markets. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the agri-food sector and on the development of trade relations between Chile and the United States.
In this context, the United States is a strategic market for Chilean meat exports, particularly for chicken. In 2025, Chile shipped approximately 48,000 tons of chicken to the US, valued at over US$150 million, representing roughly 30% of US purchases of this product.
The meeting is part of Ambassador Judd’s ongoing agenda of engagements with companies and representatives from various productive sectors since his arrival in Chile. In the case of the meat sector, the relationship between the two countries is reflected both in trade and in the shared production and sanitary standards that have solidified the presence of Chilean meat in the U.S. market.
