Argentine is seeking to expand ties with Israel

The national government announced that Argentine beef will have its own “Week” in Israel, a promotional event that will take a delegation of exporting meatpacking plants to Tel Aviv and targets a buyer that is currently the third most important for the country’s beef.

The announcement was made at the Casa Rosada, after the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the Executive President of PromArgentina, Diego Sucalesca, met with the newly appointed Israeli ambassador to Argentine, Ahuva Spieler Reshef.

According to the official statement, Argentine Meat Week in Israel is a promotional strategy aimed at “strengthening the leadership of the national meat sector in a key market like Israel.” Representatives from exporting meatpacking plants, with the support of PromArgentina, will participate in a trade mission to Tel Aviv.

In terms of numbers, Israel is a major customer. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture for the first half of 2026, China accounted for 53% of beef exports, the United States 19.5%, Israel 10%, and the European Union 9.1%, while Chile represented almost 2%.

Between January and May, exports to Israel grew by 21% in volume and 73% in value. A year earlier, in the first half of 2025, Israel had been the second largest destination by volume, with 22,300 tons and 7.2% of shipments.
