June shipments grew 40.6%, consolidating the best performance in the history of Brazilian exports for a first semester.
Brazilian chicken meat exports (considering all products, both fresh and processed) totaled 482,800 tons in June, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This volume exceeds by 40.6% the amount recorded in the same period of 2025, when 343,400 tons were shipped.
Revenue from exports reached US$985.5 million, a result 54.7% higher than that recorded in June of last year, when US$637 million was recorded.
Driven by June’s performance, Brazilian shipments ended the first half of 2026 with the best result in the history of Brazilian chicken meat exports, both in volume and revenue. Between January and June, shipments reached 2.936 million tons, a figure 12.9% higher than that recorded in the same period of 2025, when 2.600 million tons were exported.
In terms of revenue, the accumulated growth reached 17%, with US$ 5.7 billion between January and June of this year, compared to US$ 4.871 billion recorded in the same period of 2025.
Among the main destinations for Brazilian exports in June, China maintained its leadership, with 50,100 tons shipped (+12,248.8% compared to the same period of the previous year). Following were Japan, with 46,600 tons (-0.9%), the United Arab Emirates, with 46,200 tons (-5.1%), Saudi Arabia, with 33,100 tons (-1.0%), the European Union, with 28,000 tons (+250.7%), South Africa, with 26,300 tons (+946.3%), Mexico, with 25,400 tons (+728.8%), South Korea, with 18,500 tons (+7,819.7%), the Philippines, with 12,500 tons (+330.2%), and Singapore, with 12,000 tons (-19.4%). It is worth remembering that part of the high percentage variations recorded in some markets stems from the low comparison base of June 2025, a period impacted by the temporary restrictions resulting from the single, now resolved, case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) on a commercial farm in Brazil.
In terms of exporting states, Paraná maintained its national leadership, with 199,300 tons shipped in June (+48.2%), followed by Santa Catarina, with 103,300 tons (+35.2%), Rio Grande do Sul, with 56,700 tons (+40.1%), São Paulo, with 29,900 tons (+40.0%) and Goiás, with 29,400 tons (+55.4%).
“The results of the first half of the year were achieved in an environment marked by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the logistical challenges arising from this context, especially in maritime routes associated with the Strait of Hormuz. Even in this scenario, Brazil significantly expanded its presence in strategic and value-added markets, such as Japan, the European Union, South Korea, and China, while maintaining a strong presence in the Middle East and expanding opportunities in emerging markets. The performance in June, although influenced by a lower comparative base given the already overcome occurrence of IAAP in Brazil, reinforces the diversification of the Brazilian export agenda, the competitiveness of our production chain, and consolidates a solid foundation for another year of record results in chicken meat exports,” highlights the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
