The Republic of Turkey began an official audit in Paraguay on Monday, which will continue until August 7 and will evaluate 11 beef export establishments as part of the process for their authorization to enter that market. The inspection is one of the final requirements for Paraguayan beef to enter the Eurasian country.
The opening meeting was attended by the president of the National Service for Animal Health and Quality (Senacsa), José Carlos Martin; representatives of the diplomatic corps, auditors of the official mission, general directors and technicians of the institution.
During the week, the Turkish delegation verified the operation of the official health control system, traceability and safety conditions in the cold storage facilities authorized for export, with the aim of verifying compliance with the standards required by that market.
The audit is part of the trade liberalization process initiated after Turkey declared Paraguay eligible to export beef and live cattle. Approval of the meatpacking plants will allow Paraguay to move forward with the start of shipments to Turkey.
