Pork exports are projected to increase in volume in 2026, while the value generated will grow at a more moderate pace, according to the National Service for Animal Health and Quality (Senacsa). The sector is seeking to conquer more markets to sustain growth.
Breaking down the bulletin provided by Senacsa, pork shipments registered a growth in volume during 2026. Between meat and offal, shipments reached 12,962,896 kilograms, compared to the 11,999,730 kilograms registered in the same period of 2025.
Regarding the value paid for Paraguayan products, sales totaled US$35,588,878, compared to US$35,115,191 the previous year. Analyzing the data year-on-year, it is observed that the total volume increased by approximately 8%, while the value registered a slight increase of just 1.3% .
In the case of pork, shipments increased from 11,839,240 kilograms in 2025 to 12,814,812 kilograms in 2026. Meanwhile, buyers paid US$35,021,421 this year, compared to US$35,524,648 the previous year.
Meanwhile, shipments of offal decreased in the first eight months, going from 160,489 kilograms to 148,083 kilograms in the same period this year, while the value went from US$ 93,769 to US$ 64,230.
Paraguayan pork currently has 17 approved destinations, including Taiwan, Brazil, Uruguay, the Philippines, Ivory Coast and Liberia, which are now its main buyers, according to official data.
As part of this opening process, in July 2026, Paraguay made its first shipment of pork to the Philippines, with a consignment of 27 tons of baby back ribs (bone-in upper back). Furthermore, this September, the first shipment of 27 tons of baby back ribs to Singapore was made.
