Brazil: Pork exports remain at record high in the first half of the year

Cumulative shipments grew 10% in volume and 7.9% in revenue; performance reinforces the prospect of a new record for 2026.

Brazilian pork exports (considering all products, both fresh and processed) totaled 132,400 tons in June, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). This volume is 3.5% lower than that recorded in the same period last year, when 137,200 tons were shipped.

Export revenue reached US$312.8 million, a result 8.4% lower than that obtained in June 2025, when US$341.7 million was recorded.

Despite the adjustment observed in June, the sector ended the first half of 2026 with the best performance in the history of Brazilian pork exports. Between January and June, shipments reached 794,200 tons, a volume 10% higher than that recorded in the same period of 2025, when 722,000 tons were exported.

In terms of revenue, the accumulated growth reached 7.9%, with US$1.859 billion between January and June of this year, compared to US$1.723 billion recorded in the same period last year.

Among the main destinations for Brazilian exports in June, the Philippines remained in the lead, with 23,500 tons shipped (-30.4%). Next were Japan, with 17,200 tons (+33.8%), Chile, with 11,700 tons (+3.1%), China, with 11,400 tons (-26.5%), Hong Kong, with 8,000 tons (+1.4%), Mexico, with 6,900 tons (-4.8%), Singapore, with 5,900 tons (-35.4%), Argentina, with 5,900 tons (+46.5%), Vietnam, with 5,800 tons (+1.5%), and Uruguay, with 4,700 tons (-3.3%).

In terms of exporting states, Santa Catarina maintained its national leadership, with 65,200 tons shipped in June (-6.9%), followed by Rio Grande do Sul, with 31,400 tons (-4.7%), Paraná, with 20,700 tons (+3.2%), Minas Gerais, with 4,100 tons (+26.3%) and Mato Grosso, with 4,000 tons (+23.3%).

“Although June showed a slight adjustment compared to the same period last year, the performance of the first half of the year confirms the strength of Brazilian pork exports. The sector continues to expand its international presence through an increasingly diversified strategy, reducing dependence on specific markets and strengthening its performance in higher value-added destinations. The accumulated results reinforce our expectation of another historic year for Brazilian pig farming,” highlights the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
