Finn Klostermann leaves Danish Crown at the end of the year

Finn Klostermann has been CEO of Danish Crown Beef for 12 years. He delivers a strengthened beef business that has taken major steps forward in everything from processing to commercial partnerships.

CEO of Danish Crown Beef, Finn Klostermann, is saying goodbye to the Danish slaughterhouse group at the end of the year. This comes at the same time as Danish Crown is making a radical organizational change, which involves merging seven of the company’s eight business units into a new joint organization.

This also includes the Danish Crown Beef business unit, which will in future be incorporated into the rest of the business under a new global management with responsibility for joint production, joint sales and joint product development. However, Danish Crown Beef will remain an independent legal entity with the same ownership structure, owner service and distribution key.

The organizational change will take place over the next six months, but from the turn of the year, the position as CEO of Danish Crown Beef will not be continued.

The transition to the new organization has therefore been a natural time to pass the baton on, says Finn Klostermann.

“I have been happy to be part of Danish Crown for almost 20 years. But now Danish Crown is on the threshold of a radical organizational change, and therefore it is natural that I step down now,” says Finn Klostermann.

“I am proud to have represented more than 3,000 farmers and would like to thank them all for their trust over the years. Together with fantastically dedicated employees at Beef, during my time as CEO of Beef, we have significantly increased the degree of processing and created more commercial value from the unit owners’ cattle. It has been an exciting and rewarding journey. Based on efficient production, branding, business development and good business acumen have been the guiding principles, and we have succeeded in moving the beef business further up the value chain in close collaboration with both the owners and our customers,” he says.

Finn Klostermann will continue in his current role at Danish Crown Beef until the end of the year.

Group CEO of Danish Crown, Niels Ulrich Duedahl, thanks Finn Klostermann for his great efforts over almost 20 years at Danish Crown – the last 12 years as CEO of Danish Crown Beef.

“Finn has been a driving force in developing and strengthening the beef division in Danish Crown, which under his leadership has more than doubled in size. Finn’s strong commercial insights and sense of development have significantly increased the value added of the unit owners’ cattle. At the same time, Finn has been an exponent of good relations with existing and new customers, which was most recently made clear when Danish Crown landed a large and important agreement with McDonald’s”, says Niels Ulrich Duedahl, who also emphasizes that the next step is to strengthen competitiveness by better utilizing the size and competencies of the overall organization.

Danish Crown has around 3,700 cattle shareowners. And from here we also thank you for the cooperation.

“Finn has made a great effort for Beef over many years. He has been well-liked and respected by the owners, and we would like to say a big THANK YOU to him. I would especially like to thank him for the great work he has done around the burger factory in Vejen. Finn bears a large part of the credit for the fact that we now process a large part of the beef,” says Hanne Line Revsbech, vice chairman of Danish Crown and chairman of Kreaturforum.

The change follows the organizational adjustment that Danish Crown

began in June, when the group’s group functions were merged. With the new changes, the independent units Sokołów, Beef, Industry, Foods, KLS, UK and ESS-FOOD will be combined into a new, joint organization, which will equip Danish Crown to deliver on the future strategic direction of increased processing, sharper market focus, stronger brand and greater cost efficiency.
