Paraguay increases beef exports by 18 percent in the first five months of 2025

Pork exports also grew 40% in volume during the same period, while poultry meat sales reached $3.5 million.

Paraguay  exported more than 149.5 million kilos of  beef  during the first five months of 2025, representing an 18% increase in volume and a 37% increase in value compared to the same period last year, according to official data from the National Animal Health and Quality Service (Senacsa).

The Senacsa report, reveals that foreign sales of beef generated revenues of nearly $848 million through May. The main destination for Paraguayan beef was Chile, which acquired more than 45 million kilos, followed by Taiwan with more than 20 million, the United States with 18.6 million, and Israel with 12.1 million kilos.

Paraguay’s foreign meat trade continues to strengthen, with significant growth in all sectors and the consolidation of key markets such as Chile and Taiwan.

Pork exports also showed a significant increase: 5.6 million kilos were shipped abroad, valued at $15.7 million. This volume represents a 40% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

A notable fact is that 81% of the export value came from sales to Taiwan, consolidating it as the main market for Paraguayan pork.

Meanwhile,  poultry meat  sales abroad reached nearly 2.2 million kilos through May, generating $3.5 million. According to official data, Iraq, Albania, Vietnam, and Angola accounted for more than 70% of these exports.
