Argentine beef arrives at SIAL Paris at a key moment for the future of exports

With 30 exporting companies and a 1,000 square meter pavilion, the IPCVA will participate in one of the most important food fairs in the world

In a scenario of changes that could redefine the beef business in Europe, the Argentine Beef Promotion Institute (IPCVA) will lead the participation of Argentine beef at SIAL Paris 2026, which will take place from October 17 to 21 in France.

The fair, one of the most important in the world for the food industry, will take place in a particularly strategic context: the upcoming application of the European regulation on deforestation-free products, the new commercial opportunities linked to the European Union-Mercosur agreement and the restrictions affecting the entry of Brazilian meat into the community market.

In this context, the IPCVA will seek to consolidate the positioning of Argentine Beef in one of its highest value markets and show European importers the progress of the national chain in responding to new commercial and environmental demands.

“It will be a slightly different fair due to the implementation of deforestation regulations and the European Union-Mercosur trade agreement, in a context where Brazil is currently prohibited from importing meat products,” stated Georges Breitschmitt, president of the IPCVA. “It is a very important event for Argentine beef in such a demanding, historic, and high-value market.”

For participation in the fair, the Institute will develop an impressive 1,000 square meter Argentine Beef Pavilion, with individual spaces for the 30 participating companies and the traditional restaurant, where exporters will receive international clients and buyers to taste wide and narrow steaks of the best Argentine beef.

Deforestation at the center of the agenda

One of the central aspects of Argentine’s participation will be the upcoming application of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products, which establishes new conditions for marketing beef in the European market.

In this context, the IPCVA will hold informational meetings with European importers and operators on October 17, 18, 19 and 20, in which it will present the progress of the Argentine livestock and meat chain to respond to the requirements of the regulations and preserve access to that strategic market.

During the meetings, the operation of the VISEC Carne platform and its interaction with importers from different European countries, with whom pilot tests have already been carried out, will be explained.

The system integrates official information from SENASA, geolocation of livestock establishments, and satellite analysis, with the aim of providing information that supports the origin of production and facilitates the due diligence processes required by the European Union.

In this way, Argentine will seek to demonstrate that it has scientific, technological and traceability tools to respond to the new environmental demands of international trade.

A high-value market and new opportunities

The European Union remains a strategic destination for Argentine beef. In 2025, it accounted for approximately 10% of export volume but represented nearly 20% of the total value of foreign sales, reflecting the importance of this market for higher-priced cuts.

In addition to traditional businesses, such as those related to the Hilton Quota, there are the commercial prospects opened up by the agreement between Mercosur and the European Union, as well as the new scenario generated by the restrictions on Brazilian meat exports to the community bloc.

These factors will be present in the trade talks that will take place during SIAL Paris, a privileged setting to strengthen relationships with importers, analyze access conditions and explore new business opportunities.

A great international showcase for Argentine Beef

SIAL Paris is held every two years and brings together the leading players in the global food industry. For its 2026 edition, the organizers anticipate the participation of some 8,000 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, making the trade fair a strategic platform for international food trade.

The Argentine Beef Pavilion will once again be one of the main spaces for promoting national beef, combining business meetings, tastings and institutional actions aimed at strengthening the recognition of Argentine Beef in international markets.

The 30 companies and entities that will accompany the IPCVA in the Argentine Beef Pavilion are: Abuelo Julio, APEA, Argall, Arrebeef, Asociación Argentina de Angus, Azul Natural Beef, Bustos y Beltrán, Compañía Bernal, Conallison, Ecocarnes, Estancias de Patagonia, Frigorífico Bermejo, Frigorífico Forres Beltran, Frigorífico Gorina, Frigorífico Rioplatense, Frimsa, Grupo Lequio, Grupo Tresnal, Industrias Frigoríficas Recreo, Industrias Frigoríficas Sur, Italmen Menudencias, La Anónima, Madeka, MBRF Quickfood, Minerva Swift, Nestor Tomasello, Offal Exp, Rafaela Alimentos, Santa Giulia and Urien Loza.
