ULMA Packaging has expanded its vacuum packaging integration capabilities by combining its proprietary FLOW-VAC® technology with SUPERVAC’s high-quality vacuum equipment and specialized expertise.
Through the combination of the FV 35 system and ULMA’s LineController, the solution integrates bag forming, vacuum packaging, and comprehensive line management into a single coordinated system. The integrated setup features centralized recipe management, real-time line monitoring, and advanced production performance analysis.
Operational Advantages of FLOW-VAC® Technology
The FLOW-VAC® system offers operational flexibility for varying product lengths while automating shrink bag forming and product loading. This automation enhances productivity and reduces manual labor requirements associated with traditional bagging processes.
Key technical benefits include:
- Material and Logistics Efficiency: By forming bags tailored directly to product dimensions, the system reduces overall film consumption and eliminates the need to manage multiple pre-made bag inventory sizes.
- Enhanced Seal Integrity: The automated bag-forming process minimizes seal contamination, lowering the risk of vacuum leakages in finished packages.
Centralized Management and Digital Monitoring
ULMA’s LineController provides operators with a unified view of the entire production line via a single Human-Machine Interface (HMI). The interface displays real-time operating status, active alarms, active recipes, and line-wide production metrics, allowing operators to quickly locate incidents and evaluate their impact on throughput.
- Single-Point Product Transitions: Product recipes for both ULMA and SUPERVAC equipment are managed centrally and mapped directly to specific SKU codes. Line parameters across all connected machinery can be updated from a single station during product changeovers.
- Remote Machine Access: Line operators can access individual machine interfaces remotely via Virtual Network Computing (VNC) directly from the central control terminal.
- OEE Performance Tracking: Through the integrated OEE Booster module, production data is aggregated to track Overall Equipment Effectiveness. The system generates machine-level data—including stoppage causes and rejection metrics—and produces automated PDF reports for performance auditing and process optimization.
The collaboration provides food processors with full turnkey project delivery, custom line transfers, and single-source equipment supply tailored to specific production requirements.
