11% jump in Brazilian pork exports
Brazil has exported 11.5% more pork than it used to do in the first eight months of last year. More thqn 756 tonnes of pig meat was shipped abroad, according to official data. China remained the main destination for Brazilian exports, with 391.100 tonnes imported between January and August, 17% higher than in the same period in 2020. Chile was also highlighted, with 43.400 tonnes (+ 76%), Philippines, with 15.900 tonnes (+203%) and Argentina, with 19.200 tonnes (+88%).
"The performance of exports to Brazil's historical partners, such as Chile and Argentina, for example, and the return of exports to Russia are added to the significant increases in exported volumes in the year to countries in Asia, which however they continue, in some cases, with deficits in animal protein”, assesses Luís Rua, ABPA's IntrenDirector of Markets.
