ABPA: Protein exporters project US$1.4 billion in business after Gulfood 2026
According to projections consolidated with participating companies, the contacts and negotiations carried out during the event are expected to generate US$1.4 billion in business over the next 12 months.
During the five days of the fair alone, business transactions totaled US$131.4 million, reinforcing Gulfood's role as the leading global showcase for the halal market and strategic destinations in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
The initiative was part of ABPA's international trade promotion strategy and featured an exclusive space of over 430 square meters within Gulfood, dedicated to conducting business, institutional networking, and promoting Brazilian animal protein.
In total, 21 Brazilian agribusinesses participated in the action coordinated by ABPA: Adoro Alimentos, Avine, Avivar, Bello Alimentos, BFB Alimentos, C.Vale – Cooperativa Agroindustrial, Coasul – Cooperativa Agroindustrial, Copacol – Cooperativa Agroindustrial Consolata, Coroaves, Frango Pioneiro, Granja Faria, GTFoods, Jaguá Alimentos, Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial, Netto Alimentos, Pif Paf Alimentos, Somave Alimentos, SSA Alimentos, Villa Germania Alimentos, Vossko do Brasil and Zanchetta Alimentos.
During the event, the Brazilian pavilion hosted a busy schedule of business meetings with importers, distributors, and purchasing decision-makers from different regions of the world. ABPA's initiative also included a central tasting area where chicken and duck shawarma, as well as omelets, were served to reinforce the quality, versatility, and distinctive flavor of Brazilian products to visitors. Throughout the fair, approximately 6,500 shawarmas and 1,000 omelets were served.
Participation in Gulfood 2026 reinforced the strategic alliances between the Brazilian export sector and the halal market. Brazil is the world's largest exporter of chicken meat produced according to Islamic precepts and maintains a prominent position as a reliable supplier to Muslim countries, meeting sanitary, religious, and traceability requirements.
“The results achieved at Gulfood 2026 reflect the international market's confidence in Brazilian animal protein. The fair is a strategic space to consolidate partnerships, expand dialogue with importers, and reinforce Brazil's image as a safe, predictable supplier aligned with the requirements of halal markets,” assesses the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
