ABPA debuts at Expoalimentaria with more than US$71 million in projected business
The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), concluded with impressive results its first participation in Expoalimentaria, the largest food and beverage fair in the Andean region, which ended last week in Lima (Peru).
With the participation of four associated companies – Dom Porquito, Avenorte, Somave and Bello – the action promoted Brazilian poultry, pork, egg proteins and poultry genetics (within the scope of the sectoral projects Brazilian Chicken, Brazilian Pork, Brazilian Egg, Brazilian Breeders and Brazilian Duck), in dozens of meetings held with importers from Peru, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, the United States, the Dominican Republic, Oman, as well as European countries.
According to ABPA, during the three days of business meetings at the event, US$9.2 million in export deals were consolidated, with an expected US$71.5 million in deals over the next 12 months.
In addition to its presence at the fair, ABPA also hosted the third edition of the INTERNATIONAL ROAD SHOW 2025 – No Borders for Food: Partnerships for Food Security – in Lima on September 23, in partnership with ApexBrasil and with the support of the Brazilian Embassy in Peru. With the theme "Animal Protein: WHO-Based Decisions for Food Security," the bilateral seminar brought together Peruvian and Brazilian authorities for a technical discussion on the role of World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) standards in promoting safer, more transparent, and evidence-based international trade.
"ABPA's presence in Peru combined strategic trade promotion actions with health diplomacy. It was an important opportunity to strengthen trade relations with key countries in the Andean region and reinforce Brazil's commitment to best food safety practices", emphasizes ABPA President Ricardo Santin.
