Alberto Herranz: "We work so that the consumer knows the values of the white layer pig sector ”

The director of INTERPORC has made these statements during his participation in a round table on the current situation of livestock in which the future prospects of animal meat were analyzed both in its consumption aspect, as well as market trends, production, supply, etc.

Herranz recalled that "the Spanish pig sector works by applying the most demanding standards and regulations in the world in matters such as animal welfare, food safety or biosafety. All this configures a very powerful message that we have to adequately convey to society”.

On the other hand, Herranz has reviewed the future challenges of the sector and how the Interprofessional is preparing them. In this sense, he has exposed the multiple activities carried out by INTERPORC to promote the white layer pig sector.

The round table, moderated by Vicens Enrique-Tarancón Delmas, coordinator of the GSP Lleida, was held within the framework of the conference 'Livestock situation in a global turbulent context', organized by the Lonja de Vic and Banco Sabadell, with the collaboration of the Vic City Council, the Department of Climate Action of the Geand the Gepork Group.
