Another ASF outbreak reported in Poland
ASF keeps spreading across the Polish province of Lublin. Another outbreak has been reported last week on a small farm with 8 pigs in the area. The outbreak is 57 kilometers away from the 17th case registered this year, which was reported on July 9, according to Farmer magazine.
The farm is located in the village of Belzec which is part of the area subject to restrictions due to other outbreaks reported earlier.
The number of ASF outbreaks reported this year in Poland has reached 18 and the disease appears to shift to the South-East of the country, according to experts from the State Veterinary Institute - National Research Institute in Pulawy. This is the 5th year since Poland is trying to stop the disease and eliminate it. By now, only the Czech Republic managed to eliminate the disease from its territory, while Belgium is fighting to keep the virus away from its domestic pigs.
