Argentine: Higher beef exports in July

According to a report prepared by the Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA), Argentine beef exports corresponding to the seventh month of the year 2022 reached a value of approximately 322.1 million dollars, resulting in 62% higher than 198, $9 million earned in July 2021.

The average export price for July 2022 was moderately higher (+7.2%), than that observed throughout the seventh month of 2021. However, the average price for the month was moderately lower (-1.7%) in relation to the registered in the month of June of this year.

As a consequence of the moderately positive trend in prices, which had a variation of (+7.2%) when comparing the months of July of the years 2021 and 2022, there was a significant rise of (+62%) in the obtained value.

The People's Republic of China was the main destination, in volume, during the first seven months of 2022, with approximately 277.4 thousand tons, followed by Israel (18.7 thousand tons), and Germany (13.8 thousand tons). In terms of the value of foreign currency received, the main market was also China, which represents 66.3% of the total export value of chilled, frozen and processed beef in the period, followed by Germany (7.8%), and Israel (6.5%).

In order to take advantage of the good international prices of the product and thus obtain a greater amount of foreign currency, the government communicated to the representatives of the exporting companies that it will enable a 15% more quota of beef to be sent abroad,

As of September, some 34,500 tons per month could be exported versus the average 30,000 tons that had been authorized since the beginning of the year.
