Argentine beef exports 42,8 % higher in April than the same month of 2021

Argentine beef exports corresponding to the fourth month of 2022 reached a value of approximately 294.3 million dollars, 42.8% higher than the 206.1 million dollars obtained in April 2021. The average price was significantly higher (+54.6%) than that observed throughout the same month of 2021 and also 9.4% higher than March of this year. As a consequence of the positive trend in prices, there was a rise of 42.8% in the value obtained despite the year-on-year contraction of -7.7% in exported volumes.

Argentine beef exports 42,8 % higher in April than the same month of 2021

Argentine exports of beef accumulated over the last year, from May 2021 to April 2022, were located in volumes close to 698.6 thousand tons equivalent beef with bone of bovine meat and more than 89 thousand tons of bones cattle for a value close to 3,044 million dollars.

The People's Republic of China was the main destination in volume for Argentine beef during the first four months of 2022, with approximately 136.5 thousand tons, followed by Israel, with 13.3 thousand tons, and then by Germany, with 8 ,2 thousand tons. In terms of the value of foreign currency received, the main market was also China, which represents 62.1% of the total export value of chilled, frozen and processed beef in the period, followed by Germany (9.0%), and Israel (8.8%).
