Argentine breaks record in beef exports with growth in key markets
Argentine exported 699,987 tons of bone-in beef from January to September, the highest volume in the last five decades, according to data from the country's Agriculture Secretariat.
This growth is attributed to the elimination of restrictions and the increase in exports to key markets, from which revenues of 2,122 million dollars were obtained.
Exports were destined to 48 markets, with the United States registering the largest increase at 46%, followed by Chile with 21%, Israel with 11%, the European Union with 7% and China with 4%. The latter remains the largest buyer, absorbing almost 70% of total shipments.
Mexico has also positioned itself as the sixth most important destination, followed by Brazil, Russia, Canada and Malaysia.
In terms of production, bovine slaughter reached 10.22 million heads, which meant an increase compared to the average of 9.9 million for the 2017-2022 period, resulting in a beef production of 2.33 million tons, of which 70% was destined for the domestic market, demonstrating the industry's capacity to meet both local and international demand.
