Meanwhile, other countries in the region showed stronger performances. Brazil exported 827,800 tons, representing a year-over-year increase of 12.8%. Paraguay also registered an increase of nearly 20%, reaching 115,900 tons. Meanwhile, Uruguay maintained its exports stable, with 126,000 tons.

One of the highlights for Argentina was the growth in the average value per ton exported, which registered a year-over-year increase of over 30%. According to the Rosario Livestock Market (ROSGAN), this improvement in prices was observed in almost all export destinations.

The greatest impact in terms of volume was seen in China, the main buyer of Argentine beef. Purchases from the Asian giant fell 40% compared to the same period last year, although that market still accounts for nearly 60% of the total shipped by the local industry.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) projected that China will increase its annual beef purchases by 2%, reaching 3.8 million tons. However, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) reported that between January and April 2025, imports fell 11% year-on-year, with a total of just over 890,000 tons.
