Asger Krogsgaard: I will not run again for the post of chairman
The work to determine the future management model for Danish Crown is coming to an end in the bylaws committee that the board of representatives set up last autumn. At its next meeting, the board of representatives will be presented with the committee's work. The goal is for the new statutes to be in place before the circle meetings in December, so that new elections can be held for the board of representatives.
When a new board of representatives is elected, a number of members must be elected to the board of directors, who constitute themselves together with the external and employee-elected board members. In this connection, the current chairman Asger Krogsgaard has decided that he does not want to seek re-election as chairman. In addition, a joint board has now started a process where an external business leader profile must be found who has the skills and willingness to take on the task as chairman.
"Due to the difficult situation Danish Crown is in, work is being done on many fronts in the board right now. One of them is a new governance model, which the statute committee is putting the finishing touches on. There are several changes on the way, and one of the things that the board of representatives will soon have to deal with is creating the possibility of putting an external business profile at the head of Danish Crown. After careful consideration, I have therefore decided that both the current boards, the board of representatives and the broad group of owners must already know that I do not wish to be re-elected as chairman. I have not yet made a final decision on whether I will run for the board at the next election; it will largely depend on whether there are enough younger candidates with courage and the right skills to apply for the heavy and important work that our board will also have to carry out in the future", says Asger Krogsgaard and continues:
"It is quite important to me that my person, and speculation about whether I want to continue as chairman of Danish Crown, will not stand in the way when the board of representatives will soon have to deal with our new articles of association. Therefore, we in the current AmbA board agree that we expect Danish Crown to have its first external chairman at the next constitution. However, it is absolutely essential that we have a candidate with the right qualifications, so we have already started that work", says Asger Krogsgaard.
Danish Crown's board of representatives will meet in Randers on 5-th September, where they will, among other things, discuss and possibly adopt the company's new articles of association.
