Bell&Evans is preparing an investment of $260 million
Bell & Evans approved the expansion of the production capacities with a new poultry harvesting facility that is to be built in Pennsylvania.
The new facility is projected to cover over 50,000 sqm and it will have 4 processing lines, each with a capacity of housing 600,000 birds a week.
"We’re excited about our growth and its positive impact for the local communities. This expansion is supporting local farmers in fifteen surrounding counties by expanding our grow out and breeder operations.
Additionally, coupled with our 100% conversion to a higher-welfare chicken breed, this expansion ensures Bell & Evans will maintain our position as industry leader and producer of the highest quality chicken in the US.", declared Scott Sechler, the owner of the company, quoted by FoodBev magazine.
The total investment is about $260 million of which $2 million will be covered by a local government grant. The new facility is to create 1,000 jobs in the region, according to the local authorities.
