Bhutan market should increase presence of the poultry sector on the Asian continent
Located in South Asia, the nation of almost 1 million inhabitants has a relatively low per capita consumption, around 5 kilos per capita per year - for comparative purposes, Brazil's per capita consumption should close the year 2023 with total of 46 kilos.
"There is a potential for an increase in the consumption of chicken meat by the Bhutanese population. Thanks to the excellent work carried out by the Brazilian Government, Brazil will now be able to position itself as a relevant partner for food security in the Asian country", assesses the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
According to the association's markets director, Luís Rua, tariffs for exports of poultry products to Asian destinations are relatively advantageous within the international context, established at around 10% of the value of the product shipped.
"This new opening closes the year recording the success of the work carried out by the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs, with a number of openings for the poultry and pig sectors at levels never before recorded", highlights Rua.
