Brazil: Revenue from poultry genetics exports grows 18.4 percent in March

The volumes shipped in the third month of this year totaled 1,777 tons, a drop of 35.1% compared to the same month last year, when the total was 2,738 tons.

In the first quarter, export revenue reached US$ 62 million, 7.6% more than the US$ 57.6 million recorded in the same period in 2024. The volume exported was 5,668 tons, a reduction of 27.8% compared to the 7,853 tons last year.

Mexico, the main destination for exports in March, imported 764 tonnes, a decrease of 29.7% compared to the same month in 2024. Other destinations are Senegal, with 305 tonnes (-28.4%), Paraguay, with 259 tonnes (+8.9%), Venezuela, with 228 tonnes (+148.8%) and Colombia, with 55 tonnes (+70.1%).

"We have seen a significant increase in purchases by neighboring countries, especially demanding one-day-old chicks to reinforce their own production with cutting-edge Brazilian poultry genetics. This has been a trend since the middle of last year and is expected to continue over the coming months, which reaffirms confidence in poultry genetics produced in Brazil", emphasizes ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
