Brazil reports higher volume of beef exports to China

The Brazilian Association of Meat Exporters (ABIEC) announced that the beef exports sent to China in 2018 accounts for 44% of all beef exported. According to the association, totall beef exports are expected to reach 1.626 million tonnes in 2018.
2019 could bring an increase in the volumes of beef exported to China, said ABIEC president Antonio Camardelli, who predicts an increase in exports by 200 million tonnes, which should generate revenues of $7.26 billion.
Camardelli is very optimistic about the development of the Chinese market for Brazilian beef as a Chinese delegation was visiting Brazil in the last quarter of 2018 to determine conditions at six units that intends to start exports to the Asian country. At present, 16 Brazilian units are authorised to export meat to China.
