Brazilian Beef: Participation in Gulfood generated USD 122 million in business

The participation of the beef sector, through the Brazilian Beef Project, included a partnership of more than 20 years with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

During the five days of the fair, participating companies welcomed their customers, new buyers and everyone interested in Brazilian beef, once again showing Brazilian beef to the world. The 21 companies that were present at the Brazilian Beef pavilion were: Astra, Barra Mansa, Beauvallet, Better Beef, Comesul, Cooperfrigu, Estrela, Fortefrigo, Frialto, Frigon, Frigosul, Frigotil, Frisa, Iguatemi, Masterboi, Mercúrio, Naturafrig, Plena, Prima Foods, Supremo and Zanchetta. At the 400 sqm stand, with a ground floor area and mezzanine, visitors were able to taste Brazilian beef, proving the flavor and quality of the product.

Last year, exports to Muslim-majority countries represented more than 15% of Brazilian beef exports, with more than 330 thousand tons and revenues of USD 1.3 billion.

"Participating in a fair in the United Arab Emirates not only promotes beef locally, but throughout the Muslim community. Furthermore, Dubai has increasingly become an export hub and Brazil's participation in this type of event is fundamental", highlights ABIEC president, Antonio Jorge Camardelli.

During the fair, business generated by participating companies totaled more than USD 122 million and the expectation for the next 12 months is that business will exceed USD 1.1 billion.
