Brazilian exporters project 750 million US dollars after action at Gulfood Dubai 2023
According to the projections collected from the exporting companies participating in the action, the thousands of contacts made during the event should generate more than US$ 750 million in business in the next twelve months. In just the five days of the event, there were more than US$ 50 million in sales made by companies in the poultry, eggs and pork sectors (for non-Islamic buyers).
To reach these figures, ABPA and ApexBrasil increased by 20% the area destined for the Brazilian productive sector at the event, which had an infrastructure of more than 450 square meters. The space housed 22 agroindustries from the sector: Aurora Alimentos, Avenorte, Avivar, Bello Alimentos, BRF, C.Vale, Coasul, Copacol, Dália Alimentos, Granja Faria, GtFoods, Jaguafrangos, Lar Agroindustrial, Naturovos, Netto Alimentos, Pamplona Alimentos, Pif Paf, Somave, SSA, Villa Germania, Vossko and Zanchetta Alimentos. Seara Alimentos and Vibra Agroindustrial will also be at the event, with their own stands.
In addition to the structure for doing business, the space had a wide tasting area, serving omelettes and the traditional shawarma (a dish from the Arab culture) of chicken and duck meat. The objective, according to the ABPA, is to reinforce the quality and distinctive flavor of the Brazilian product with customers. According to ABPA, 5,100 shawarma and 1,700 omelettes were served during Gulfood.
The ABPA space at the event also received several actions with stakeholders. In one of them, there was a presentation of the Brazilian technical-sanitary staff, presented by the Secretary of Agricultural Defense of Brazil, Carlos Goulart, with the participation of stakeholders from the Islamic market. The association also received in its space the Secretary of Commerce and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Roberto Perosa, and the Ministry's special advisor, Carlos Ernesto Augustin.
The public at the event – known for its strong focus on decision-makers in the purchase of food products – also received more information about exporters and the agro-industrial chain in Brazil, through electronic and physical materials.
"The ABPA space was very popular in what was our seventeenth participation in Gulfood. Faced with an international scenario of pressure on the international food trade, importers from all over the world reinforced their conviction in Brazil's capacity to support the world demand for chicken meat. This was a notable behavior in the meetings we had during the five days of the event and reinforce the expectations of a positive year for poultry and pig farming in Brazil", analyzes the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
Brazil is the world's largest exporter of chicken meat produced according to Islamic precepts ( halal) . Last year alone, 1.983 million tons were exported, generating US$ 3.869 billion in export revenues for Brazil. The United Arab Emirates are the largest importers, with 444.9 thousand tons imported in 2022.
