Cherkizovo receives UN vendor title

Late July saw Cherkizovo Group become a United Nations vendor. The Company completed its registration with Global Marketplace, the UN’s official procurement portal, and can now supply its products to UN programs, including the World Food Program.

“Becoming a UN vendor not only helps Cherkizovo access new markets but also demonstrates our commitment to corporate responsibility,” commented Anastasia Mikhailova, Head of Government and Public Relations at Cherkizovo Group. She went on to announce that the Company had gone beyond basic registration and proceeded to levels 1 and 2, giving Cherkizovo access to additional tenders run by UN organizations.
The UN Global Marketplace has been around in its current form since the 1990s. Its aim - to streamline the procurement requests of UN organizations and provide a single procurement platform for vendors. The UN ecosystem currently includes a wide range of large international organizations, which need to procure goods and services to facilitate their projects. In addition to the well-known World Health Organization (WHO) and World Trade Organization (WTO), the United Nations also includes agencies such as the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the United Nations Children's Fund ( UNICEF), the World Food Program (WFP) and others.

“As a result of our registration on the UN platform, Cherkizovo Group can collaborate with these organizations and respond to any tenders relating to our kind of product,” explains Anastasia Mikhailova.

The UN Global Marketplace targets companies interested in doing business with UN agencies. According to the UN website, annual turnover for all products and services exceeds $15 billion.
