Cherkizovo will increase the production of broiler meat by 23 percent

The Cherkizovo Group, one of the largest producers of meat and meat products in the Russian Federation, plans to increase the production of broiler meat by 23%, to more than 1 million tons per year in live weight, by purchasing enterprises of the Healthy Farm agricultural holding, the company said.

"Taking into account the enterprises of the Healthy Farm Group of Companies, Cherkizovo will be able to produce more than 1 million tons of broiler meat per year in live weight," the report says. At the end of 2021, the company produced 813 thousand tons of such products.


The auction was opened on December 20 by the Russian Auction House, the seller was the bank of non-core assets "Trust". The winner was APK Mikhailovsky (part of the Cherkizovo group), which had previously received prior approval from the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia.
The acquired enterprises are capable of producing 120 thousand tons of poultry meat per year in live weight, and also produce a wide range of products of further processing. They also include a feed mill with a capacity of 240 thousand tons of products per year.


"For Cherkizovo, the Chelyabinsk region in 2022 will become the third new region of presence: earlier, in the Orenburg region, the company acquired the Vishnevsky SGC, and in Bashkiria, the assets of the Russian Grain Ufa Group, the largest poultry meat producer in the region," the statement said.


The Cherkizovo Group is one of the leaders in the markets of chicken meat, turkey, pork, meat products, and it is also the largest feed manufacturer in the Russian Federation. The main shareholder is the family of the founder of Cherkizovo Igor Babaev. Spanish Grupo Fuertes owns 11.12% of the company.
