Colombian beef enters the Saudi market
Four Colombian beef processing plants have received the phytosanitary certification for exports for Saudi Arabia. |We have identified that the centers of consumption for imported meat are centered in Riyadh, the capital of the country; in Mecca where millions of Muslims arrive, and in Jeddah, one of the shopping destinations", declared Leandro Protzen, COO for one of the companies that are now allowed to export beef in the Saudi market. Last year, the Middle East kingdom has imported almost 85,000 of beef worth $414 million. The main suppliers in the market are Brazil, India and Australia.
