Costa Food Group buys Carnicas Villar and expands its range of products
Costa Food Group expanded its range of products and operations by acquiring Carnicas Villar, a Spanish family company with two production plants in Los Rabanos, Soria, and Burguillos del Cerro, Badajoz.
With this acquisition, the Aragonese group incorporates Iberian hams and sausages to its product offer and reinforces its position as one of the main companies in the meat sector, announce CdeComunicacion website.
Carnicas Villar has export contracts signed with different partners from Europe, America, Asia, and Oceania.
Besides that, along with this purchase, the facilities of Costa Food Group will be present in a good part of the Spanish territory as follows: four production plants produced in Los Rabanos (Soria), Burguillos del Cerro (Badajoz), Bonmatí (Gerona) and Palol de Revardit (Gerona), a subsidiary of Aroma Iberica Serrana SL in Balsapintada (Murcia), a slaughterhouse and cutting room in Vic (Barcelona), the participation in the future Iberian abattoir in Extremadura CIBEX and four feed production plants located in Navarra and Huesca.
The company also has more than 600 farms within its production system and exports to 107 countries. Costa Food Group plans to close this year with a turnover of over €680 million and expects to reach €800 million in 2019.
