Denmark increased its pork exports in 2025
Denmark further increased its pork exports in 2025. Including by-products, around 1.35 million tons were exported, approximately 7% more than in the previous year, according to the Agricultural Market Information Company (AMI).
Significant shifts occurred in the most important sales markets: Poland took over the top position with 207,000 tons (+23%). China followed closely behind with 200,000 tons (+3%), while Germany, also with around 200,000 tons, fell back to third place, remaining at the previous year's level. Deliveries to the Philippines also increased considerably (+41%), while exports to Japan declined noticeably (-35%).
Overall, more than half of exports continued to go to the EU single market. Deliveries to the EU-27 rose to around 716,000 tons in 2025, while exports to third countries increased to approximately 638,000 tons. Given its high export dependence, Denmark remains in intense competition with other EU suppliers. In addition to meat, live animal exports – particularly to Poland and Germany – also play a key role.
