El Pozo begins delivery and distribution project with zero-emission electric trucks
The initiative has had the collaboration of the vehicle rental company DFM Rent a Car, which has ultra-fast chargers at its central facilities, with the support of Iberdrola, which will charge the vehicles for capillary distribution in just two hours. This delivery and distribution system will be extrapolated on a national scale.
The use of these two trucks will mean a total reduction of ten tons in the carbon footprint of the city of Murcia, where the vehicles will work. This initiative allows El Pozo Alimentacion to advance in its objectives and commitments to prevent environmental risks by minimizing its emissions.
The general manager of El Pozo Alimentacion, Rafael Fuertes, points out that "with this step, we not only contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and protecting the environment, but we also reinforce our commitment to society in our decarbonisation policy by moving towards effective and efficient logistics".
For his part, the CEO of Grupo Disfrimur, Juan Sánchez, highlighted that "the collaboration between DFM Rent a Car and El Pozo marks a significant advance in the decarbonisation of transport", and he is grateful for the trust placed in his company. He highlighted the commitment of both companies to sustainability and that initiatives such as the incorporation of electric trucks not only eliminate polluting emissions and noise, but also take advantage of clean and renewable photovoltaic energy, contributing to a more responsible model”. Sánchez stressed that "these actions encourage other companies to follow the same path towards decarbonisation".
